Holy Week at LFMC

The story of the cross is a story of sin and brutality, met with love and obedience, and ultimately a victorious resurrection--a story of love, death, life and hope. During Holy Week we commemorate and reflect on the events in the life of Jesus during the week leading up to and including his crucifixion and resurrection. You are invited to join us for these special services:

Good Friday (April 19, 7:00 p.m.): Our Good Friday service is a tenebrae service (from the Latin word for "darkness")--sometimes called a service of "diminishing light." This year we will participate in a variation of the tenebrae service--a Service of Seven Shadows. The story of Jesus' passion and death will be presented as a series of shadows that fell upon him in the last hours of his life before the crucifixion. Come for an evening of contemplation and reflection--a great preparation for a joyous resurrection celebration on Sunday.

Easter Sunday (April 21), 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.: We will have two identical Easter celebration services, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the hope that it gives us, with traditional and contemporary music (and an Easter egg hunt for children!)--all are welcome!

Child care: Nursery available during Good Friday service. Nursery and K-5 programs for children during both Sunday services.
